Board Member (Volunteer)
The Reinhardt Initiative Non-Profit Corporation is seeking two passionate, mission-aligned individuals to join our founding Board of Directors. Our organization is committed to creating transformative programs that serve underserved communities in Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco Counties, beginning with the launch of Bright Steps Learning Center, a special needs daycare (hopefully) opening in August 2026.
As a Board Member, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic vision, ensuring fiduciary oversight, supporting fundraising efforts, and guiding high-impact community projects.
What Success Looks Like
- You attend and actively contribute to quarterly board meetings (virtually or in person)
- You provide expert guidance in your area of knowledge (education, disability advocacy, nonprofit management, healthcare, finance, etc.)
- You help connect the organization to new networks, donors, and resources
- You serve as an ambassador for our mission and uphold the highest ethical standards
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Reinhardt Initiative
- Provide strategic oversight for programs such as Bright Steps Learning Center
- Review and vote on budgets, program proposals, and major decisions
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability
- Support and participate in fundraising efforts and community engagement
- Serve on committees or task forces as needed
- Help recruit future board or advisory members
Qualifications
We are especially seeking individuals with one or more of the following:
Professional experience in:
- Special Education, Early Childhood Education, ABA Therapy, Disability Services
- Nonprofit Governance, Public Administration, Social Work
- Fundraising, Grant Writing, Legal Compliance, or Finance
Skills:
- Excellent communication and collaborative leadership
- Sound judgment and organizational decision-making
- Comfort serving as a public-facing advocate of the organization
Personal Qualities:
- Deep belief in equity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Passion for improving the lives of children and families in Florida
- Willingness to serve and grow alongside a developing organization
